ACLU Investigating Sexual Abuse at ICE Facility

After a former immigration detention guard was charged yesterday with sexually abusing female detainees, the ACLU is renewing calls for further reform of the immigration detention system.
The alleged abuse took place in the T. Don Hutto Residential Center, near Austin, Texas. The resident supervisor, Donald Dunn, 30, was charged Thursday with three counts of official oppression and two counts of unlawful restraint, the Austin American-Statesman reported. BREAKING: Proposition 8 is Ruled Unconstitutional

The idea of repressing memories has been explained as a common way the mind deals with pain, by trying to push them out of awareness.

Catholic Church: Only 5% of clergy involved in child sex abuse

Yesterday may have been International Blasphemy Day but this story is no joke.  In response to accusations of covering up child abuse and violating many provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Catholic Archbishop Silvano Tomasi sought to counter-attack and deflect criticism.
According the Guardian:
In a defiant and provocative statement, issued following a meeting of the UN human rights council in Geneva, the Holy See said the majority of Catholic clergy who committed such acts were not paedophiles but homosexuals attracted to …
